Re: HBK financial report
Hi,

i was just looking at the last months financials and am hoping you could clarify what the Research and Development costs are for the company (400 000 is quite a lot) and why is the company paying such huge salaries to it's staff (800 000) and totally thus neglecting the shareholders (16 000 applicable to the shareholders)? I get the feeling that you would like this company to get privately owned and thus intentionally lowering the stock price.

With my regards,

Re: Financials Question
Jesus Christ.

This kinda thing makes me mad. I call it a crime. I also don't know how HBK originated, but i think it had a lot to do with the investors in the "game" to get them started. And now... when the company is doing good, the CEO is just neglecting the investors and hiding profit. In RL such a thing is called a crime and people are sent to prison for long years. I think such stuff should be regulated by some public order. A financial markets association should be generated inworld maybe to control people of such sort (some leverage with the LL should that body also have to manifest any real power) and actions should be taken against such behaviour. If SLCAPEX is a game then so is SL. But howcome the money keeps reeling in to your RL bank account then mr. Fredriksson?

Angry Estonian.

Re: Financials Question
More,

i was looking at some older posts by HBK and as i see it, the company got really a kickstart at the end of 2007. Back then, a dividend of 200K was paid and no mention of RL workers and such was made. This i call just BAD BUSINESS, even if it is true. A CEO should investors let know what lies ahead, not try to explain to everyone what has happened. Unfortunately i still hold some shares in the company. Money to the trashbin (not much tho).

Alain.

Re: HBK financial report
Yeah,

to tell you the truth Eatsome, you really hit the spot there. I've recently invested a fair amount of money in different companies on SL and this kinda thing just makes me want to not invest in these venues anymore. It's just a shame, what a great potential this thing has, but it needs better working guidelines/rules/laws. This HBK situation is a warning. I think change is needed. FRAUD should not be allowed. Whether it be hiding of profits or the compilation of false financials.

I think this thing is another example of how the Second Life community just does not work. It's another banking situation to be honest. On the other hand, it's not :) I was going to go on about how the complex rules that are missing are killing the SL economy, but then i realized that mr. Eriksson holds more than 70% of the company. So basically he can do whatever he wants. It's just a bad investment. Sry for my trashing your screens with all these letters.

Have a nice day,
Alain

Re: HBK Still Around?
I would like to see something happen with HBK as well. It has been halted for about a month now and no news whatsoever. I mean come on. Either some news from the CEO, the exchange or someone! Something should happen. And most probably delist! I will lose my little investment probably but better a quick and clean death than a lingering existence :)

Re: HBK Still Around?
I totally agree with you Pep and HBK is one of the most clear examples of a CEO going after his own personal profit. I think in the long run such companies do get screwed, as one might be able to pull it off for a short period when sales are good. But let's imagine a scenario where sales would drop and hard times would hit the company and some extra money would be needed to invest for the company to overcome a crisis... Now is there an investor here that would be willing to invest more in HBK? I don't think so. And for what business connections are concerned i think that mr. Fredriksson has not made any new and lenghty relationships here. SL might seem like a vast metaverse at first sight, but all in all the world is not that big and i believe that life and the world are a mirror and eventually it will show you your own colours.

Regards,
Alain

Capital Exchange Archive » HBK : posible solution if the company have big problems
Re: posible solution if the company have big problems
Thank you Bo! That is the news i've been waiting for a long time. Any reprocussions possible against HBK? Fraud? Something? Is there a fraud insurance fund in SLCAPEX against such cases? As this is a typical case of the CEO just taking the shareholders money and running with it. A very bad apple on this tree. Makes me NOT want to invest in SL.

Re: posible solution if the company have big problems
Trust me, ACE does NOT want this company. How did you figure that one Gravel? I am also a TOP10 shareholder in HBK and very dissapointed. On the other hand there is a flip-side to this coin, as Intlibber pointed out very well on the ACE forums. RL companies often do not pay a single dividend and their price is solely made up by shareholder assesments. That unfortunately does not work in SL as all the numbers can be a fiction here. Dividends are the only real indicators of a strong and healthy company and in this case we have been cheated out of them (look at Limer Fredrikssons earlier posts on this forum where he promises to continue posting dividends... and do keep in mind that HBK was partly based on shareholder money). This is just shitty behaviour on his part, but... he can do whatever he wants, as he controls 75% of the company. It's just a bad investment and a learning experience for us all here. Has raised a lot of insurance issues against future such behaviour... so i think all in all the community has benefited from this experience.
