Re: combine like stock buy/sell orders
I believe this to be a good idea, I'll recommend it be given serious consideration.

Re: Liquidity and Value
Right, our goal as an exchange is to provide a market. However, how liquid any one company is will be based on the performance of that company and its CEO. We cannot magically provide liquidity for a company that's not doing so well. We do however, want to drive the exchange and get folks interested in the market and trading and investing. That's what education programs and advertising the exchange is meant to do. I believe we're handling that well, and as functionality improves and people gain confidence with the platform liquidity should improve over time.

The markets here are still far more risky than usual, some people aren't willing to take the levels of risk involved because they do not know how to adequately handle that risk. There are a variety of risk mitigation tactics that can improve performances including doing investigative work into the history of CEO's and companies. The economic factors of SL are also far more volatile. A lot hinges on the performance of LL itself and its product and the life cycle of the underlying virtual reality that Second Life is which is constantly re-maturing based on technology and the improvements of LL to the current system.

Some risks can be mitigated. Global risk cannot be. Some people will not want to take a lot of risk based upon the very nature of the exchange's existence.

Anti-Gambling Policy (CEOS Mandatory read and compliance)
I've not taken this up directly with Allen yet, but it's TOS so it has to go into effect.

If your CEO avatar account is in any way tied to any wagering which relys on the generation of random numbers or upon sporting events, you must immediately destroy such ties. AVIX already has a no-gambling policy, but this policy would be more strict in that your account cannot be tied to these processes in any way. Compliance is mandatory and must be met within 72 hours. Failure to comply will result in a freeze of your trading if discovered.

The Policy: http://blog.secondlife.com/2007/07/25/wagering-in-second-life-new-policy/#more-1106

Why AVIX is exempt from the policy.

5. Does this policy apply to “skill contests?”

This policy only applies to wagering games that meet the criteria listed above. If your game or contest does not meet the above criteria, it is not restricted under this policy, but applicable laws and local practice may impose additional requirements on you. This policy does not give you guidance on what your legal obligations are – as noted above, that is your responsibility to determine.

I assure you, competing economically in this game world is most definitely a skill. If LL states they consider us gambling we must definitely comply with what they have to say, but I believe that based upon their own interpretations the Exchanges are safe so long as we prevent gambling companies and accounts from listing. That said, due diligence is a necessity I've been harping on for a long time.

Cleaning up SL.

A lot of people are wondering about the recent actions of LL. I believe they're bold moves intent on making SL a more viable.. not a less viable economic platform. There is a LOT of incentive in cleaning up SL and making the environment more professionally attractive....

A lot of the recent decisions regarding obscenity and gambling remind me of something city commissioners would do in the U.S., effectively.. they're slowly trying to turn Las Vegas into New York.

Re: Good 'Till Cancelled (GTC) orders
I've advocated slightly extended order lengths, GTC would be a bad idea however in my opinion.

I appreciate your thoughts and opinions, but I don't think you understand me or my opinions at all based upon your statements and those that know me would tell you the same.

That being said, I think this attempt at saying "the company should have a unified opinion" as criticism for the fact I and Allen occasionally do have different opinions and not for the ad-hominem attack it turned into and respond by saying that I have a right to my own opinion and will exert that right when I feel the need. I have nothing but the market's best interest in mind. Different approaches do not indicate different goals. You may say I'm taking a 180 degree stance to exaggerate my viewpoint when in fact I'm taking a different track to the same goal.

That said, if your criticism hadn't been so flamish/trollish, I may have taken it more seriously. By the way, if you do not think I take the value of my shares and the value of my shareholders seriously you need to research the company of which I am the CEO, that being DGD. AVIX should be doing fine and if there is a poison factor involved, I assure you it is not me.

I'm not aware of us expending an excessive amount on advertising at this momment. I personally only budget 100 linden out of my own budget each month to pay for advertising for both AVIX and DGD combined. We do encourage buy backs, in fact I've been buying back shares of DGD. As for AVIX's advertising, Allen may know how much is being spent but so far as I know we keep those expenses minimized unless we know they will pay off. That said, you're preaching to the choir and not doing your research.

As far as I have seen, advertising to boost liquidity is ineffective unless it's by word of mouth. People don't trust ads, they trust people.

Re: Pulling out all the stops for profit.
After a bit of discussion with someone who had a bit more knowledge of multitasking with SL, I've developed a way to camp with security to my satisfaction. That said, DGDProtected will now also actively camp, padding our pockets a bit more. I'm pondering employing my laptop and another spare account to help also.

Personally, long as they keep the maintenance cost proportional to market size, I'd not mind at all if they regulated us.
