Update Requests
Edited by author Aug 30th 2007, 15:45
Savvy suggested we create a thread for people to post upgrades they'd like to see. So let's start building the list, then we'll get prices for them, and we'll decide what features are needed. I'll start the list. As people post, I will copy/paste what they say here, and delete their thread for better organization.

1) We need to find and change all 'AVIX' text. Here are a few:
A) IPO Price: This is the price (per share) that you will sell the shares allocated in the IPO section. Please keep in mind that the Allenvest International Exchange takes a 3% commission from the sale of IPO shares. Keep this in mind when deciding the price and amount of shares to IPO.
B) Forum "AVIX Suggestions"
-------------------------------------------------
2) Have a section showing the last 20 trades on each stock in the research section.
3) Allow people to DL transaction history back 3 months (unless it takes up too much space)
4) Add ability to add forums under Admin
5) Ability to track how many posts people have made in forums (to see how active they are)
6) Ability for companies to update prospectus
7) Allow admin to make thread 'Sticky'
8) Show a 'View' count in the forums

Re: Update Requests
King - can you elaborate more? If it's a mathematical thing, can you just DL the history and do it? We need features to improve your user experience, not so much to save you time for doing calculations.... unless I misunderstood what you're saying. If I did, sorry...

Re: Update Requests
I have some Greasemonkey (Firefox) scripts that do exactly this (dollar average calculations per stock)

I have some servers being commissioned as we speak, once I get some hosting space I'll post a link here. They are licensed under the little known 'it broke? you can keep the pieces' license, but your welcome to try them out.

Re: Update Requests
I have just written a long piece for my blog about the state of different Second Life Stock Exchanges. Right now, SLCapEx has the best features out there, at least for my needs. However, there are a few things that I would be interested in seeing.

The ability to download historical data is very big in my mind. ISE does a pretty good job of that.

Adding RSS feeds of the news here would also be a great improvement.

Enhancing the webservices information would be nice. I really like the simple information that is currently provided, but it would be nice to get a feed of transactions, including transaction size via webservices.

Ideally, it would be great to be able submit orders automatically. Support for the FIX protocol would be great, but that would be a giant project and not one I would expect to see anytime soon. You just need to get it before NASDAQ jumps in on the game.

Definately need Average price of all shares owned!!

When you buy a undervalued stock,
and the price goes down,
Many investors will buy more..

the REAL price per share is the average
price of all shares owned..

When the investor needs to rediversify
they need to know the REAL price, in order
to set their sell price and garantee a profit..

make sense?

Re: Update Requests

When you look at stock ownership,
I would like to see change in the last
day and week...

I would also like to know how often
these values are update..

Re: Update Requests
1) - The ability to transfer L$ funds to another member's account.

2) - A merchant portal to accept payments direct into an account / sub-account.

3) - With the ability for the downloading of last 3 months transactions. Maybe ALL transactions, but have the ability to Roll-Up selected transactions into a single Roll-Up balance.

This would be ideal where you download all your transactions up to say July 1st 2007. Once you have downloaded them, you can tell Capex to Roll-Up all those transactions into one balance.
Then each quarter, once the transactions have been downloaded. Just roll them up.

For those people that are lazy, the system automatically Rolls up transactions >12 months old regardless.

Cheers

Re: Update Requests
As several CEO's are also market players with thier personal accounts it would be usefull for any personal assets to be listed separately from company assets. Meaning if you are a ceo or officer in any listed company all shares owned personally need to be listed as personal assets. For example company A owned by Mr Atlas owns 20 percent of company B. Mr Atlas has a sub account and has a stake of 5 percent of his own personal shares in company B. Thus company A only really owns 15 percent. Ceo's either need 1 sub account that are visable to others or a separate personal account that is visable to others. At the very least a rule of disclosure for personal shares owned by a Ceo above 5 percent. While this information can sometimes be asertained by looking at financial statements, and despite Capex efforts to press regular accounting, these are not always easily found in a timely manner.

Re: Update Requests
I sent a support ticket on this back when this was AVIX, but on the Excel downloads a sell transaction is giving the wrong value. It seems that the fee is added to the overall sell price, making it look like a security is sold for a higher price. It's very likely a simple sign error, but I have to manually correct every sell transaction that I have on my spreadsheet.

Another idea that I think would be good is on the tranaction history, whenever a dividend is posted to an account, the paying corporation be included in the detailed information. Right now it requires a little matching up of different pages to make the correct association.

Thanks in advance.
