MiLOS Designs - Exit Strategy
Good Morning/Afternoon/EveningI have been presented with some news that concerns the Main Store of MiLOS Designs.
The land owner of the sim where the Main Store is situated has finally decided to call it a day. I first took control of MiLOS Designs on 31st January 2007 and in that time the business has shown stability and structure and has been a 'massive' learning experience for me in terms of running a business.
This action will mean that I am faced with the problem of what to do next. (In my opinion) I have a number of options that I will set out below. I am going to have a think about these options and perhaps it would be 'nice' if I could get some comments to this topic in what others think should be done? All variables must be taken into consideration.
1) A new main-store could be set-up at a new location; re-establish itself on the Second Life search standings.
2) The majority stake of the business could be sold to a new owner. This would give the business the opportunity to be run by someone with more time available.
3) The business could re-structure its business strategy. This would involve not having an in-world main store for the time being. To focus on placing the complete MiLOS Designs inventory onto Xstreet. In addition, MiLOS would focus its energy on the Franchise/Affiliate/Vendor setups; having other business owners sell the MiLOS branded products.
I have to put it out there that having now finished University I find myself beginning my career and in full-time employment. I personally see that if I were to only run MiLOS Designs it could be developed to stage where it provided RL wages. However, I am unable to dive into that deep end of risk. My lack of available time is a real pain but hopefully the best of a bad situation can come of this.
I would like to hear from as many stakeholders as possible on this.
With Kindest Regards
